Dendritic disinhibition, synaptic plasticity and computational modeling
Separating which connections can change could protect prior learning even when neurons are shared.
The context signal was supplied externally in the model. Memory preservation in vivo remains to be tested.
Manipulate branch selection during new learning and distinguish effects on storage from effects on recall.
What would change our view: Reconsider the protective mechanism if prior memory persists after disrupting branch selection during learning.
A prospective test proposal, not a prediction score. A graph connection does not validate this hypothesis.
