The useful measure is not how many hypotheses are generated, but how efficiently the process reaches questions worth testing experimentally. Rather than making researchers less important, it may make their ability to turn knowledge into guidance more valuable. We will look next at efficiency including expert time, and whether other research teams can achieve useful results.
